At Home Tonight

The guys (big and little) really love the high school football scene which we didn't have at Whitefield. So usually I have Friday night to myself and Seth. Seth is in bed and so tonight it is you and I, my friends.

I'm a little afraid that what I am going to say next may be a little like President Bush standing under a big sign "Mission Accomplished."

HOWEVER, I believe that this week is a week that I'll look back on as a turn around week--with regard to our move. (To my friends in Kentucky, you can still feel the love, because I'll still miss you.)

I met Bernadette yesterday at church for Bible Study as I promised that I would. My Beth Moore study is superior in content but this is the social outlet I need. I was amazed at how nice, really nice I was treated.

Tonight at dinner, David mentioned that maybe tommorow morning after Samuel's basketball evaluation we could go to North Carolina (He's longing for a little more color). Quickly I said, "as long as we're back for church on Sunday." He almost choked. Really.

My birthday celebration continued through tonight! We had my cake last night. The picture does it no justice. It was beautiful. Very girly and white with raspberry filling. My boys looked at it and said, "Yuck." Until they tasted it. Seth dropped his spoon and went for it by the fist. Yes, he's three! But it was that good.

Tonight I opened my gifts from Beth. The Celebrate Willow Tree angel and a bracelet that I really like too. My boys liked the card best--it has a picture with a girl with both fingers up-way up her nose and when you open it it plays Boogie Wonderland and says, It's your birthday, Can you dig it?

Happy Belated Birthday!
I was a lowly high school student when you were in college, but I remember you well. Harold told me that you were at the alumni reunion in KY. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It's always nice to connect with another mother who knows the feeling of being outnumbered.

The song "God Will Make A Way" has been on my mind last night and this morning and it made me think of you. It's been so incredible to see how God is bringing people into your life and giving you peace about your new home. Your cake is or should I say was :-) beautiful. Looks like you had a really special birthday. Loved the card - Blake has just recently started picking his nose and this morning I think he said "booger".

It had been a few days since I'd visited your blog. I enjoyed catching up today. I especially enjoyed reading Oct. 17th entry. Actually, I think that entry was one of the first times I'd ever read your blog and when I "favorited" it, that was the entry that comes up on yahoo. It was such a good one and spoke to me when I needed it.

It's like that saying about people being in your life for a reason, a season...You were here & now you are there for someone/something/some reason/some season. It's good to know you feel at home now.

Thank you to each you for your comments. We didn't make it to NC this weekend but went yesterday to Talullah Falls, GA. I took some pics and will try to post tomorrow. It was a wonderful family day!!

Aimee, You sent me the most encouraging email after that post. I appreciated then and again now. Welcome!

Kayla, You're right we are certainly outnumbered! I find that I'm drawn to pink when red used to be my fav color. I think it is my silent rebellion that I have nothing pink in my house except if it's on me! Welcome! Come back again!
