Happy Birthday

I officially joined the Balty family 15 1/2 years ago. I am grateful that we lived just a couple of miles from David’s parents the first year we were married. We ate Sunday lunch with them almost every week and often would be back there for a snack after church on Sunday night. It gave me an opportunity to get to know them. I have been blessed immeasurably.

David’s mom, Glenda, has a birthday tomorrow. For many special occasions of our lives, she has been with us. We can’t be there but I wish we could –especially this year.

Glenda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this week. I ask that as you read this blog that you would ask God to give her a special day tomorrow and an extra measure of grace to face the challenges ahead.

AMY, As I was driving home from work tonight, I became tearful thinking about God's unending and undeserved grace in my life. Later I read your blog. It is no coincidence that as you were asking for grace for Glenda, God was speaking to me about His wonderful gift. I have just finished" ACTS 29 50 days of prayer" at church and I have learned so much about the power of prayer, especially coporate prayer. I have seen God's spirit move in some amazing ways. I am praying for your family and for a wonderful celebration for Glenda tomorrow. LINDA

I am so, so thankful for each of your prayers. Even if you read this and prayed but didn't comment so, thank-you. Glenda will go to a University Hospital today (Monday, Dec 3)to find out about treatment options.

Linda, I wondered where you were! I thought maybe U of L's season had you under! :-) You are so right about the corporate power of prayer! We are "new" to each other but when I had Seth I almost died, and I am certain God intervened because of the prayer --literally all over the world! Thanks for coming by again--I always appreciate your thougths!
