Update for February 29

It is now 11:00pm and Amy's neurologist has just ordered an MRI of her pituitary gland to be done immediately as well as more blood cultures. Amy again developed another fever this PM and the doctors seem truly perplexed as to what the underlying cause is. David and/or I have read to Amy all of your comments and they are so encouraging and comforting to her. Thank you for all of your prayers on her behalf and please continue to pray for her. Carole

Dear David and Amy,
I am sure Amy will not recognize the name but David will. I happened upon a link to your blog and have been praying for you today. What a difficult thing to face, especially the uncertainty. I read Isaiah 25:4 today and thought of your situation. It seems the enemy is attacking with a vengeance those who lift up the name of Christ. I am glad we know who is REALLY in charge! God bless and comfort you.

David and Amy:

You do not know me, and it would take too long right here to explain how I came to hear of your situation. But, know this: I am praying for you and your destiny is secure.

My views on God may be different from yours, because I do not believe that God causes or intends all things to happen, so I do not necessarily believe that He is causing your situation for a purpose. But, I do know that He is always there with you, seeking to comfort you in your distress and to let you know that He loves you and that nothing in this life can separate you from His love. Satan and/or just crummy things in life can bring about unpleasant things. But, God reigns in all things and he can take those things which are imperfect and grow us through them.

Although the light in your eyes may be dim right now, the light of your life will be bright to those around you as you let Jesus live through you, and people see joy and peace in the midst of trials. Let His peace be yours. He loves you, is watching over you right now, and is living in you. Galatians 2:20!

Blessings to you and your family. My prayers are with you.

Hello David and Amy,
I recently came across your blog address from Mary Huff's site. I didn't realize Amy's condition. I wanted to let you both know that you are in our prayers. I'm so glad that we have a wonderful Heavenly Father to turn to.
God is faithful!

Amy and David, Susan let me know that the procedure yesterday had gone well and had hoped for an upturn .. (is that a word?) We continue to pray for healing and for peace! Give our love to your guys .. I fell in love with Seth that first day even if he did ask some personal questions .. LOL!!! We've laughed a lot about that!! Seriously, our prayers continue on a daily basis!!

February 27 Update

I just called to see if Amy wanted to blog anything today, but at the moment she is talking on the phone to her wonderful friend, Deb Rose. Deb and her husband, Brian, used to live in Louisville several years ago. They were our very best friends. If I were talking to the Roses this evening, I would tell them that Amy is desperately scared. The docs have given her a very stiff dose of antibiotics, but as of this moment, her body temp is climbing once again. Her primary doctor told her he fears that this infection may be fungal in nature. I don’t completely understand all of the implications, except that we are shooting at this infection with our biggest guns, but it just keeps on coming. In her introspective manner, she shared with me today that if she had known she would lose her sight, she would have invested it more wisely in the things she read and watched: “What if I go completely blind and can’t read the Bible? I have to get more serious about memorizing.” This morning a do...

March 2: HOME!!

From his vantage point at our front door, three-year old Seth delightedly shrieked, "Mommy," and I turned in time to see Amy being driven down our long driveway. Our three blond-haired boys buried their faces in their mother. Even the house sighed contentedly. Amy's home. A Happy Husband, David

Homeschooling Curriculum Help?

Shannon is hosting a backwards edition of what-works-for-me Wednesday , where you can ask for advice/ or suggestions instead of giving them. Yeah! I need some advice. David and I are really praying and considering homeschooling our boys, K4 and grades 2 and 6 —beginning this fall. Can anybody recommend a curriculum, either as a whole or as a subject, that you are crazy about that doesn’t make you crazy? Secondly, if you could give one tip for “survival” what would that be?
